MUMBAI: Sakshi Tanwar started her career as an anchor in Doordarshan. She anchored the film songs-based program Albela Sur Mela in 1998. From 2000 to she played the lead role of Parvati Agarwal in the Balaji Telefilms soap opera, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. After appearing in various serials in between she once again portrayed the role of the female lead, Priya Ram Kapoor, in the Balaji Telefilms soap opera, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. In 2016, she was seen in Aamir Khan movie Dangal.

“Mai” revolves around the Chaudhary family of two brothers, who live in adjacent houses in the same colony, with their spouses and children.
